This setting of “Senex Puerum Portabat” uses early-music inspired melodies and fifth-heavy harmonies, while moving the text between different soloists in the group throughout much of the piece.

The piece is appropriate for liturgical use, particularly for the Feast of the Transfiguration/Candlemas, by professional, university-level, or advanced amateur church choirs.
