Shall we gather at the river?

This arrangement of the straightforward yet stunning revivalist tune uses simple aleatoric passages alongside more traditional chorale-style writing to give the feeling of flowing water, alongside the song's spiritual message. 

The two solo parts can be performed by sopranos or altos. In addition to concert performances, this piece has been performed liturgically as an anthem by church choirs.
